This week we installed an Aluminum patio-cover on the Hayes residence in Millers Creek outside of Wilkesboro N.C. The awning on one side angled to follow the shape of the cement patio. We can follow the shape of almost any deck or patio with the awning shape to create a a nice look that matches. The Hayesstated that they had wanted an awning for some years and when water started leaking in the basement and they found out it was coming in behind the patio they new it was time. They killed two birds with one stone as we would say here in the south. They permanently fixed their leak and covered their patio at a small fraction of the cost of digging out and repouring their patio, and they got it covered in the process. Last week we installed awnings on the Clanton rental house. We put up a 18′ wide by 13′ projection flat pan style awning on the back deck and it had a 5′ by 4′ section off the back that covered the steps. On the front deck we installed a 18′ wide by 13′ projection flat pan awning to cover the 16′ by 12′ deck to give 1′ overhang all around the deck. Mr. Clanton had the awnings put up primarily to help the deck last longer but also so his renters could enjoy the deck in the sun and rain. In the near future we will be installing another flat pan awning on the back of Mr. Clantons house so that he can sit under it beside his pool. This week we installed a W-pan style awning on the Smith Rv at Lake Hickory Rv Resort. It was 37 feet long and projected out 13 feet 2 inches to give 1 foot overhang all around the deck. We also installed 2 celing fan beams for the Smith’s to later install fans. The Smiths were happy to finally have their deck covered so they can sit outside in the shade and rain. Mr. Smith said he espically like to watch it rain and looked forward to watching it rain on the lake. We worked out a payment plan with the Smiths so they could afford to get their awning now and make payments over the coming months. We offered them interest free payments with a down payment on the awning when it was ordered. Call us if you would like for me to come out and give you a free estimate and go over payment options if necessary.
A few months back we installed a flat pan style awning on the Bumgarner camper at Hickory R.V. resort. After it was completed his dad decided to cover his back deck also. This awning is a great example of what a flat pan awning looks like and what a awning in a corner looks like. It turned out very good and poppa Bumgarner was well pleased.
This week we installed a deck awning at the Williams residence. The awning covered the deck and on the left side projected out 6 m0re feet to cover the walkway going to the car garage. Mr. Williams was excited about getting the awning done and being able to walk from his car to the house without getting wet. We attached 4 posts to the deck and cemented 2 in the ground to support the area going to the carport. Mr. Williams is going to decide later if he wants us to put up vinyl handrail or build it out of wood.
Today we installed a flat pan style awning on the Silver’s R.V. at Lake Hickory Campground. Mr. Silver was so excited for us to get the awning installed. Mr. Silver is an elderly man who could not sit on his deck anytime during the summer because of the heat. He was sitting under the awning after we had just installed the first 5 or 6 panels which had created enough shade for him to sit under! His wife was excited because she could get him out of the house during the day. The Silvers were great people to work for and we really appreciate their business.
Today we installed a 26′ wide by 10′ projection awning on the Leigh house in Kings Mountain N.C. We also installed handrail inbetween the awning post to give it a nice finished look. When handrail is installed that way it makes them look as though they are one. It really was a scortcher today as we were greeted by 85 degree heat by 7am. The Leighs told us they were really looking forward to using their deck again, as they have been unable to use it recently due to the hot sun.
Today we installed a flat pan style awning on the Bumgarner residence on lake hickory. We used a 3″ C channel at the back because of the small amount of space between the roof line and the top of the door. We installed 2 fan beams so the Bumgarner’s can install fans to cool off the deck in this hot summer heat. I must say we have been working in very hot temperatures the last few jobs. Today we added on the the existing awning at the Plyler residence in Dallas N.C. We installed an awning by the pool that attached to the garage last year. Mrs. Plyler wanted to cover the entire lenth of the garage to cover all the way down one side of the pool. We used a 7″ C beam to span a greater distance between the post so that the post would not interfere with the pool cover in the winter. The Plyer’s are very happy with their addition and look forward to hanging out by the pool this summer.
Today we replaced a dock door awning on the Salvation Army in Hickory N.C. This awning was damaged by a tractor trailer that backed under a door that was designated for straight trucks only. Generally the only thing that damages awnings is trucks backing into them and trees falling on top of them. We also replaced a corner on the awning where donations are dropped off. The awnings were bronze in color.
